Event Types

In this article, you will learn about Event Types; what they are and why they matter.

Once you have chosen the type of event you are planning, please do not go back and change the Event Type. You may get unpredictable results.

There are four basics types of events. Each one has its own rules and functionality. Read below to learn about all types:

1) Sell tickets and later record admissions: This type is typically used for events like school dances. You sell tickets over several days, then check-in the students with a scanner when the dance date comes.

2) Sell tickets only:  By using this type, every purchase is assumed to be a check-in at the same time. For example, going to the movies where you buy a ticket, and walk straight in.

3) Record admission only: Choose this type when there is no exchange of money. This type can be used for a field trip, or a game, or any other special occasion where normal attendance sheets are not appropriate.

4) Record admissions and exits: Typically, in and out events might be at the library, or study hall, or even an examination room where students are allowed to checkout for bathroom breaks.

Note:

Once you have chosen the type of event you are planning, please do not go back and change the Event Type to avoid unpredictable results.
