Braintree or Paysafe – Which is right for us?

Overview

We are currently integrated with two Credit Card Processors / Merchant Accounts. Please read below to see the pros and cons of each.

 

Paysafe – Available in

• Store Portal
• Store POS

Can I swipe credit cards using a magnet credit card reader? Yes
Can I accept credit cards in the main app? Yes
Can I use the Portal for parents to buy stuff online? Yes
Can I accept PayPal Payments? No
Do I need to be PCI Compliant? Yes
Do I need to have a merchant account? Yes
Can I also have a Braintree Account? Yes, you can use Paysafe in the main app and Braintree for the portal
Are there any monthly fees? No
What are the credit card processing fees? 2.9% + .30 per transaction

– 2.59% + .49 per transaction (Visa, Master, Discover)
– 1.99% + .49 per transaction for 501(c)(3) organizations – (Visa, Master, Discover)
– 3.5% with no fixed fees per transaction (American Express)
– 3.49% + .49 per transaction (Venmo)
